Allyship Report - Greenpeace
Illustration is a powerful way to show how things work, and that includes structures of inequality. Greenpeace commissioned me to create illustrations for their Allyship report with a focus on intersecting oppressions and what inclusion can look like.

Four people standing on four different pillars of varying heights. The person on the lowest pillar is a black woman with an afro, a red crop top, yellow flares and orange boots. The person on the next lowest pillar is a Muslim woman in a hijab, she is wearing a blue patterned hijab, a white cardigan, pale blue skirt and dark blue leggings. The pillar that stands higher than both of these people has an East Asian man on it, he is wearing a blue turtleneck, orange cardigan, red tie-around skirt and yellow trousers with blue trainers. He has his arms folded. The person on the tallest pillar is a white man, who is looking down towards the other people. He has short blond hair and is wearing a baby blue t-shirt with pink jeans and dark blue shoes.

On a yellow background there is an internet window with several arrows indicating a journey. The arrows first point us to a blue and red hurdle towards a group of people talking and smiling. After that, the arrows lead to a round blue circle with a black hand making the black power fist.

An illustration on a pale cream background of people from different cultures from around the world each in a window-like box that shows where they’re from. On the far left is an indigenous person from America in a flannel shirt with dark hair and braids. Behind them is an oil pipeline with the words ‘Dakota Access Pipeline’ on them. At the top of the page is a Bangladeshi woman in a blue kurta and red dupatta, she is in front of a garment factory that has big cracks in it. To her right is someone in a yellow Greenpeace shirt on a red background. Finally at the bottom of the illustration is a black person and their child from South Africa. The parent is wearing a white vest while the child has a yellow eye patch. They are standing in front of a mine. Each of the four people is holding hands to form a circle and there are blue decorative leaves in between them.
